Q. Do you sell granite or quartz?

Yes, we sell granite, quartz, marble and other stone options for your countertops.

Q. Do you have a showroom?

Yes, we have a showroom.

Q. Do you carry sinks or can I supply my own?

Yes, we carry a wide variety of sinks or you can supply your own.

No, unfortunately we do not carry faucets, you will have to supply your own.

Q. How long does the template take?

It all depends on the size of the job but typically no more than an hour.

Q. Do I need to do anything to be ready before the template?

Yes, please have the tops of your countertops cleaned and cleared off of everything before we get there.

Q. Do I have to be home when you template?

Yes, someone needs to be home during the time of template to go over any questions that you or the templator might have regarding your job that could affect the installation of your countertops. ie: cabinets, walls, corbels, overhangs, corners ect.

Q. How much overhang Can I have on my island or countertops?

You have up to 11" unsupported. Anything over 11" we recommend you have the appropriate supports.

Q. Do you supply and install supports and corbels?

No, we do not stock, supply or install supports. You can buy them locally, have them custom made or order them online.

The installation of your supports should be handled by your contractor or cabinet maker.

Q. How long does installing take?

It all depends on the size of the job but a typical kitchen takes a half of a day to install.

Q. Do you tearout my existing countertops?

Yes, we can provide the option of tearout at an additional fee.

Q. When do you tearout my old tops if we want that option?

We tearout the same day as the install.

Q. Will you take my old countertops with you and dispose of them for me?

Yes. If we do the tearout, then we will haul away your old tops for you.

Q. Do I need to do anything to be ready for my installation if Stone Concepts is doing the tear out?

Make sure everything is cleaned and cleared off your countertops, empty the cabinet below your sink and make sure your plumbing is disconnected before we get there.

Q. Do you disconnect plumbing?

No, we do not disconnect plumbing. You will need to arrange that with a plumber.

Q. How soon can I reconnect my plumbing to my sink?

The proper amount of time to wait is 8 to 10 hours. This will ensure the bonding or your your sink and tops are fully cured.

Q. How thick is granite?

Granite is 1.1/4" Thick. (3cm)

Q. What edge profiles are there?

We have various edge profiles to choose from:

(Standard Profile): Eased, Waterfall, Bevel  /  (Upcharge Profile): Bullnose, Ogee, Hand Chiseled

Q. Can you do Mitred thicker looking front edge-skirt or waterfall side-end panels?

Yes, we can do that.

Q. How many levels, groups or types of granite are there?

There are hundreds of types and styles of granite ranging from Basic Group 1 all the way to High End Exotic Group level 6.

Q. Do you have full slabs to choose from?

Yes, we have a few options of granite at our location and more can be seen at our vendors’ warehouse near our location.

Q. Where are the other warehouses of granite to look at?

The other locations in Omaha are BCS, TRITONUGM and MWT Click on the names to link you to their information.

Q. Can I pick my own slab?

Yes, you can pick your own slab.

Q. I am looking for a certain granite, do you have it?

You can call us or stop in and tell us what you're looking for and we will do our best to help you find it.

Q. Does granite have to be cut a certain way or can I determine what part I like best?

Once you chose your granite, we can do a layout on the slab before we cut it. This way you can tell us what part you like best.

We can also determine if the granite can be cut that way and if a seam will be needed.

Q. Can you install my granite without seams?

We do our best to avoid seams, however this depends on many factors including but not limited to material, size of the slab, size of the top being installed, direction of the material and if we can get it into your home with a clear path.

Q. If there has to be a seam, will it be noticeable?

We take great pride in ensuring that if a seam is necessary that it is razor blade thin and well hidden. Our fabricators and installers do their best to make sure that the seam is inconspicuous. However just to be clear...inconspicuous does not mean invisible.

Q. Is all granite polished?

Not all granite is polished, some granite slabs come in a leathered or honed finish.

Q. If I see a slab that I like that is polished, can you make it honed or leathered?

For an additional cost and depending on the granite and the finish you want it is possible.

Q. Do you have granite remnants?

Yes, we have granite remnants.

Quartz is a man made engineered stone.

Q. How many levels or groups of Quartz are there?

There are many levels or groups of quartz with various styles and colors from different manufactures.

Q. Do you have samples to see in your showroom?

Yes we have samples from various manufacturers in our showroom to view.

Q. How many brands of quartz are there? How many do you carry?

Q. Do you have full slabs to choose from?

No, we do not carry full slabs of quartz on hand. Unlike granite, quartz is a uniform stone consistent in color and pattern.

What you see on the sample is exactly how it will look on a full slab. 

Q. I am looking for a certain quartz that I do not see on your list. Can I get what I am looking for?

You can call us or stop in and tell us what you’re looking for and we will do our best to help you find it.

Q. Can you install my quartz without seams?

Unfortunately not, most quartz comes in a low lustre finish unless specifically made that way by the manufacturer.

Q. How much overhang can I have without support?

You can have up to 10" inches unsupported safely. Any overhang that goes beyond 11" inches requires support with some form of supports.

Q. What is the different types of corbels or supports?

There are many different types and styles of supports out there. The most common is flat metal hidden brackets.

There are also decorative wood or metal corbels if you chose to have something more visual.

 

Q. Where can I get supports at?

You can buy basic or custom supports locally or online from various sites.

Q. Do you install the supports?

No, Stone Concepts do not install any supports, you would need your contractor or cabinet maker to do that for you.

Q. I want a larger eat on island overhang. Can this be done and what supports do I need for that?

Pop-Up Outlets

 

Q. Can I have a pop-up outlet in my countertops?

Yes, depending on the outlet and stone stone, that is something we can fabricate. To ensure this can be done

the correctly you will need the outlet on site the day of template. Most outlets must be machine fabricated here

in shop and cannot be drilled out after.

Q. Are there different types of pop-up outlets?

Yes, there are many different types of pop-up outlets. Top mount, flush mount and hidden-recessed.

Q. Can you show or explain the different types of outlets?

Round Pop-Up Outlets

(Rounded "Top-Mount") Pop-up outlets can be cut before or After a job is installed.

(Rounded "Flush-Mount") Pop-up outlets can only be cut before a job is installed.

(Rounded "Hidden-Recessed") Pop up outlets can only be cut before a job is installed.

**When our templator come out you will need the outlet on hand and need to know the location you want it drilled at**

Q. Where can I buy Pop-Up outlets?

You can buy various kinds and types of pop-up outlets locally or online on various sites.

Q. Do you install the Pop-up outlets?

No, Stone Concepts does not install these, you would need your contractor or electrician to install them.

Q. I currently have a granite or quartz countertop, can you drill for one in my home?

If you already have existing granite or quartz tops in your home and want to add a pop-up outlet, you will be

limited to a top-mount round only style.
